How to Configure the SMTP Agent

What is the SMTP Agent?

The SMTP Agent is a secure, OS-based provider that works like Google or Microsoft to protect your emails with end-to-end encryption. It keeps your messages private and safe during transmission. Simply download the version for your operating system, fill in the configuration form, and connect your account.

Follow these simple steps to set up the SMTP Agent on your system:

   Download the SMTP Agent

   • Download the SMTP Agent for your operating system.
     • Windows: auto-detected and downloaded automatically.
     • Mac / Linux: select manually from the panel.

   Install the Application

   1. Locate the downloaded setup file.
   2. Double-click to install.
   3. Follow the setup wizard.
   4. The SMTP Agent will start automatically.

   Retrieve the Configuration Code

   • Open the SMTP Agent from the tray / menu bar.
   • Copy the displayed Configuration Code.

   Connect the Agent to Your Account

   1. Open the ScryptX web app.
   2. Go to Settings → SMTP Configuration.
   3. Paste the Configuration Code.
   4. Click Save & Verify.
   5. Look for the success message: SMTP Agent Connected.

   Test the Connection

   • Send a test email.
   • If it is received, everything is configured properly.
